About Us

Jumbo Prepackers is a South African grain packing and distribution business. The business is headquartered in Durban with satellite packing plants in other provinces. The business started from humble beginnings as a small family-owned prepacking enterprise with a complement of 5 staff operating from an 80 square meter rented premises with a 25mt monthly rice packing capacity. We are still family owned but have grown to a 100 staff complement with a capacity to pack 8000 tons of product per month.

We have a national footprint with an extensive distribution network that allows us to deliver anywhere in South Africa and to neighbouring countries.

The business imports, packs and distributes basic grains which includes Rice, Sugar, Sugar Beans, Popcorn and various Lentils.

We offer our independent and corporate customers products that range from our established brands to client specific house-brands, all packed in our audited, hygienically

certified facilities.

Distribution is arranged primarily through our associated logistics business, Viking Hauliers, as well through a network of committed logistics providers.

Our main objective is to support our communities with basic grains that are of the highest quality, that offer exceptional value for money and that are ethically sourced, packed and distributed in a manner that has due consideration for the environment and for the financial challenges that our communities face.

Our Aim

While, as a business, our objective is profitability, we acknowledge that we have a social responsibility to our underprivileged communities to help them fight the effects of poverty and malnutrition. To this end, our objective is to support legitimate feeding schemes and social outreach programmes with food donations and logistical support.
